Ribbons and Honors!
Anthony received a First Place Ribbon for best watercolor in Ocean County, New Jersey entitled Private Enjoyment. The winning painting was Anthony's entry into the 27th Annual Senior Citizens Art Exhibit held at Ocean County College Fine Arts Center.
A juried panel of artists then selected Private Enjoyment to go on to the New Jersey State Finals where it won an Honorable Mention ribbon. Anthony was thrilled to earn this status, as there were 400 paintings in the competition. Anthony was accompanied by his wife Dorothy at the October 2, 2003 reception in Flemington, New Jersey, where Anthony was presented with the certificate of recognition and a ribbon.
On September 25, 2003, Anthony was invited to a reception at The Burke Rehabilitation Hospital Fourth Annual Juried Exhibition, a show open exclusively for Artists with Disabilities. Upon arriving at the event, Anthony learned his painting entitled Hot Dog had been selected for the cover of the reception's program as well as the opening page of the events invitations! Anthony submitted two watercolors in the Burke show, Hot Dog and Shoeman. The show ran through October 25th, 2003.
On Friday evening, Sept 26, 2003, Anthony and his fellow artists fromThe Crestwood Artist Guild presented a wonderful local art show which took place in Anthony's hometown of Whiting, NJ. It was an enjoyable evening attended by friends and residents of the local retirement villages.
And finally, Anthony tells us he is thrilled with the release of Jackie Waldman's book, People with MS with The Courage to Give, (view info at Amazon.com) which included a feature on Anthony. The Zarembas have given copies of the book to friends, family and doctors. Wife Dorothy finds it "a wonderful book with such touching and beautiful stories."
