A Letter From Pam

October 12, 2001

I just wanted to share what an exciting year I have had. I just completed my 6th MS 150 (all in Texas). Two of them I didn't ride the sag wagon and rode all 150 miles. So to go with last year's record of 10 tours and 3 of them riding the distance, I've done 6 and 2 this year.

The other good news I found out this week that I will be getting to carry the Olympic Torch when it comes through Dallas on December 12th. This is way too cool! Next Thursday there will be a press conference at the Mayor's office. This is icing in the cake for me. I wanted to ride to give encouragement to others with MS. At the Dallas bike tour this spring I had an MS'er come up to me to get my autograph. That really blew me away.

I've been able to talk to so many bicyclists and thank them for their help fighting MS. Last weekend at the end of the San Antonio ride after crossing the finish I was stopped behind a team that came in together. I was so emotional and was crying. One of them came over to me and was talking to me. After he heard what I had done this year and that I had MS he told his team "Guys this is why we ride". Liz and Cindy thank you so much for your help these last two years.

Sincerely,
Pam Hensley
